...4th of July and such...

We had a very fun and busy 4th of July! I think it is safe to say that we completely wore ourselves out. We enjoyed some family bbq's, some volleyball games, parades, fireworks, and more fun stuff! It is one of Tyson's families favorite holidays and they have a lot of Independence Day traditions! If you have ever been to the Hyrum parade, you have probably seen all the old cars towards the end of it. That would be his family driving mostly all of them. Tyson's cousins own the new Smokin' Blues BBQ so we were also able to enjoy a fireside/dinner there Sunday night. His Grandpa told some stories about when he was younger. He talked about how they were only able to bath about once a week or even longer and that they all had to use the same water. They had to boil the water before they put it in the tub. Can you imagine having to wait your turn and having to bath in cold, dirty water?! It really made me think and realize how much we take for granted in this age and time. In years past, I haven't really thought about why we celebrate this holiday. I have always known why but I just haven't ever really pondered it. This year I thought about it a lot and it made the holiday that much better! I really am so grateful for all the brave and courageous men and women who have sacrificed so much so that we can have and enjoy our freedom! I am so proud to be an American!!

Grandma and Grandpa bought him a new, cool bike. It doesn't have wheels so he won't crash.
